Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall betting is against the law. Eight casinos are established in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and though visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat casino, highlights 150 slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel compound that highlights a number of comforts aside from the casino, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
